In his remarks, PB PERGATSI Executive Chairman Khalawi AH conveyed the apologies of PB PERGATSI Chairman Dra. Diana Kusumastuti, M.T., who was unable to attend due to other official commitments.
He emphasized that the newly inaugurated board carries an important responsibility to build a professional organization while strengthening Gateball development throughout the province.
“This inauguration is more than a ceremonial event. It marks the beginning of a significant responsibility to strengthen the organization, establish a structured athlete development system, and enhance the capacity of Gateball athletes, coaches, referees, and administrators across the region,” said Khalawi.
According to Khalawi, a strong organization must be supported by professional, transparent, and accountable governance. He encouraged the Lampung Provincial Board to implement digital administrative systems, develop comprehensive databases for athletes and coaches, and establish a well-planned annual calendar of activities to ensure sustainable athlete development.
He also expressed confidence that Lampung has tremendous potential to become one of Indonesia’s leading contributors of high-performing Gateball athletes. To realize this potential, athlete development should be implemented through a structured system involving schools, clubs, and regular regional competitions that serve as platforms for talent identification.
“Lampung has tremendous potential. With the support of the provincial government, KONI, and strong collaboration among district and municipal administrators, I am confident that a well-structured development system will produce outstanding athletes capable of competing at both the national and international levels,” he said.
In addition to athlete development, PB PERGATSI will continue strengthening the competencies of coaches and referees through certification programs, training courses, and regular professional development initiatives to ensure that Indonesia’s Gateball officials meet international standards.
As part of Indonesia’s preparations for upcoming international competitions, Khalawi called on the entire Lampung Provincial Board to actively support the Road to the 2027 SEA Games in Malaysia by preparing the province’s best athletes through continuous and sustainable development programs.
“The Road to the SEA Games is not merely a national initiative—it is a collective effort involving every province. Prepare your finest athletes, build a strong development system, and make every regional championship part of the journey toward international success,” he stressed.
Concluding his remarks, Khalawi expressed his hope that the newly inaugurated board would carry out its responsibilities with dedication, uphold the integrity of the organization, and make PERGATSI a welcoming home for athletes, coaches, and referees to develop their potential while bringing pride to both Lampung and Indonesia.
“Congratulations on your appointment. I wish you every success in carrying out your responsibilities, and let us work together to lead Gateball in Lampung and Indonesia to even greater achievements that will make our nation proud,” he concluded. (PAH/ROY)
